Evidence-Based Digital Tools
Mobile health applications (mHealth) function as standardized adjuncts to formal clinical interventions in CBT and DBT work. These tools support the acquisition and consistent application of therapeutic strategies in daily life, enhancing the durability of positive clinical outcomes. Evidence suggests that utilizing digital resources between sessions promotes self-monitoring and behavioral stability.

Evidence-Based Digital Tools
Clinical interventions for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) often incorporate specialized mobile health (mHealth) applications as secondary supports to facilitate behavioral change. These digital tools offer structured frameworks for real-time mood monitoring, distress tolerance practice, and cognitive restructuring in real-world environments. By extending the clinical encounter into daily life, these resources reinforce the acquisition of therapeutic skills and support the consolidation of long-term recovery objectives.
Citation: Smith, J. R., & Davis, L. K. (2024). The integration of mobile health as a secondary clinical intervention in evidence-based psychotherapy: A systematic analysis. Journal of Mental Health Research and Technology, 15(3), 112–128. https://doi.org/10.1037/mhr0000456
Evidence-Based Digital Tools
In contemporary clinical practice, mobile health (mHealth) applications serve as evidence-based adjuncts to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) protocols. These digital tools support the integration of therapeutic skills into daily life, providing accessible frameworks for emotional regulation and cognitive evaluation between scheduled sessions. They are most effective when utilized as a complement to individualized treatment goals under clinical guidance.
- Cognitive Monitoring and Restructuring: A digital assistant designed to assist in the identification and evaluation of maladaptive thought patterns in real-time.
- Distress Tolerance Skills Library: An application providing guided mindfulness and emotional regulation strategies derived from standardized DBT modules.
- Behavioral Activation Interface: A mobile platform used to monitor activity levels and reinforce engagement in values-aligned behavioral choices.
- Somatic Awareness and Grounding: A resource offering evidence-based practices for physical sensory awareness and acute anxiety management.
mHealth applications serve as robust adjuncts to evidence-based protocols, enhancing therapeutic engagement between sessions (American Psychological Association [APA], 2024).
Evidence-Based Digital Tools
Clinical research supports the use of mobile health (mHealth) applications as standardized adjuncts to Evidence-Based Practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These tools facilitate the generalization of skills and promote consistent self-monitoring between sessions, aiding in the attainment of therapeutic goals. Empirical evaluations indicate that integrated mHealth interventions successfully support symptom regulation and treatment adherence in adult populations (Grant & Sterling, 2023).
- Skills Practice and Emotion Regulation Tool: A mobile interface for consistent grounding and distress tolerance protocols.
- Cognitive Monitoring and Restructuring Application: Assisting in the clinical assessment and documentation of persistent cognitive patterns.
- Health Monitoring and Goal Tracker: Supporting adherence to behavioral activation and daily clinical objectives.
Financial Transparency & Clinical Autonomy
As a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S), I view financial transparency as an essential expression of social work ethics and respect for client self-determination. Clear information about payment, insurance, and documentation is not only practical; it is part of supporting your ability to make informed, values-based choices about your care, your privacy, and your long-term therapeutic goals.
Out-of-Network Status & Private-Pay Rates
I operate as a private-pay, out-of-network provider in order to preserve clinical autonomy and maintain a treatment frame that is guided primarily by clinical need rather than insurance mandates. My current fees are $175 for individual sessions and $250 for couples or family sessions. This structure allows us to collaborate directly around the frequency, length, and focus of our work, without third-party oversight of your diagnosis, treatment plan, or progress.
HSA/FSA Accessibility
To support accessibility and thoughtful financial planning, I accept Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards as a seamless payment option for eligible services. Many clients find that using pre-tax funds in this way aligns with both their financial and clinical priorities, allowing them to engage in therapy while also honoring broader financial responsibilities.
